At the Wallingford Family YMCA, our focus is on healthy living and on helping the individual. There is not a single path to fitness, so we’re here to help you find the right path for you. Our knowledgeable personal trainers will help you assess your current fitness level, set and achieve your individual goals and move through fitness plateaus and stuck points. We have personal training options to fit every fitness level and every budget! Personal training is available for members and community participants age 11 and up.

Personal Training Options

One-on-One Personal Training

The best investment you can make is in yourself. One-on-one training is perfect for people who have specific needs and for those who prefer to work out as individuals. These packages can be purchased in blocks of 30-, 45- or 60-minute sessions.

Jump Start Training

Not sure where to start? We’ve put together a Jump Start program for new clients at a terrific value to help you get started on your path to reaching your fitness goals!

Semi-Private Training

This is NOT a one-size fits all workout! With our Semi-Private Training, you will be working in groups of 2-5 people and will be supervised by a personal trainer. You will meet with a trainer for your initial fitness assessment, and from there you will receive a 4-week training program based on the results of that assessment. At the end of each 4 week cycle, you will receive another assessment to track your progress, and you will receive a new program! Sessions are approximately 60 minutes long, with the option to train 1, 2, or 3 days per week. Get Strong! Meet new friends! Stay accountable and motivated!

Personalized Exercise Program

Redefine your fitness routine! Let our personal trainer know your fitness goals, and a personalized program will be created just for you! This program includes a 30-minute fitness assessment, a personalized fitness program and a 30-minute program review.

$99 members/$119 community participants.

Functional Movement Screen

Our certified Functional Movement Trainers will identify muscular imbalances through a series of screens. Corrective exercises will be provided, which will lead to better movement, increased mobility and reduced aches and pains. Screen results will provide valuable feedback and our corrective exercises will lead you towards lifelong health and vitality!

$59 members/$79 community participants.

Fitness Assessment

Fitness assessments are a great way to get a baseline of where you are today according to your overall health & fitness. Whether you are a beginning exerciser or a seasoned athlete, these tests can help you set specific, realistic and achievable goals. Following the assessment, many participants meet with one of our Personal Trainers to get a personalized program created to meet their needs. Assessments include Muscular Strength, Cardiovascular Fitness, Flexibility and Body Composition Test. Approximately 45 minutes.

$39 members/$59 community participants.
