Adult Stretch & Play
Adult Stretch & Play is a slower paced class that focuses on strength and resistance training, as well as improving balance, flexibility and range of motion. There is also a fun activity/game planned for each class. This class takes place in our Teaching Pool. Please see Pool Schedule for details.

Dance to the beat in the water! Enjoy the fun of dancing with little or no impact to your joints.
Extreme Water Aerobics
Come join us for a high energy and low impact workout in the water. During this intense workout, you will engage all of your muscles while improving your aerobic capabilities and having fun!
Activate your aqua exercise urge for variety! Splash offers LOTS of fun and shallow water moves to improve agility, flexibility and cardiovascular endurance. No swimming experience necessary. This class runs year round! This class consists of a 45 minute workout with 15 minutes of socializing. This class takes place in our Lap Pool. Please see Pool Schedule for details.
“Not Your Grandmother’s Water Aerobics Class!!” High energy water aerobics classes designed to improve cardiovascular fitness, burn fat, increase strength and endurance, improve flexibility, range of motion and balance. Classes features include use of resistance training tools, such as water buoys, noodles and resistance tubing. There are shallow and deep water workouts and fun Friday water volleyball. These classes are meant to complement your fitness workouts at the Wallingford Family YMCA. No swimming experience necessary. This class is offered at different times in each of our pools. LIFEGUARD CLASS (15+ YEARS)
The purpose of the American Red Cross Lifeguarding course is to provide entry-level lifeguard participants with the knowledge and skills to prevent, recognize and respond to aquatics injuries , emergencies and sudden illness until emergency medical services (EMS) personnel can take over. CPR/AED and First Aid are included in this package.
- Must be 15 years old
- Must have access to a computer and internet, must attend all classes, and must be able to complete a physical exam on first day of course.
