Thank you to our 2018 Kentucky Derby Wine Dinner Supporters

Please accept our most sincere thanks for participating in our 2018 Kentucky Derby Wine Dinner. On Saturday, May 5th, close to 200 members of our community came out to show their support of the Wallingford Family YMCA. Whether you purchased tickets, bid on one of our Silent Auction items, made a financial gift or an in kind donation, your contribution will help to make a difference in the lives of countless children and families in need, right here in the Greater Wallingford area. At the Y, we are more than a gym, we are a community and a cause, gathered together to bring out the best in ourselves and our fellow members. Successes are sweetened and defeats softened because we experience them together. Owing to your generosity, hundreds of our neighbors will become stronger, healthier, and happier, regardless of their financial status.

From the bottom of our hearts, we say, “Thank you.” The Y exists For A Better US.

Celebrating 73 Years!

Dear YMCA Community,

Thank you to all who joined us to help us celebrate 73 years of providing quality programs and services to the greater Wallingford community. It was both our pleasure and privilege to honor the 2017 Community Partners Record-Journal and Valenti Auto Sales, as well as this year’s Member of the Year, Paul Parisi; Youth Member of the Year, PeaceSaleh Lopez; Volunteer of the Year, James Fulton, and of course, our Employee of the Year, Denise Bowen.

The night also captured and highlighted our areas of focus, Youth Development, Healthy Living and Social Responsibility, through the stories and lives of the people we serve on a daily basis at the YMCA. We shared the stewardship, vision and strategic direction that the Board of Directors and YMCA Leadership staff have developed and approved this past year.

This is all exciting and cause driven work to celebrate as we move forward into 2018 and beyond. View our full journal to learn about all the YMCA has to offer. I encourage and challenge you to get involved as a volunteer, partner, donor, campaigner or advocate for the YMCA. We will need your help as an organization to move this work forward; building strong kids, strong families and strong communities.

Health and happiness,

Sean Doherty
